Short description:
Anova Health Institute’s Family Free project has the objective to improve health care through education in the rural Mopani District in Limpopo. The project has been run by Orange Babies since 2008.
Family Free focuses specifically on:
- Preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV (PMTCT)
- Preventing new infections among adolescents
- Education for HIV-positive children and their parent(s)/guardian(s)
To do this the team uses a holistic approach for men, women, grandparents and children. The team also has a Mobile Health Unit. In this mobile clinic testing and counselling are central.
