Monday 30 November press, sponsors and contacts of M.A.C Cosmetics and Orange Babies gathered in the Bijenkorf in Amsterdam for a special Cheque Donation. In the context of World Aids Day 2015, M.A.C. Cosmetics handed over a cheque of € 212.000,- to the foundation Orange Babies Cape Town Tour. In addition, the film made of the cycling tour in November 2015, was shown to the guests for the first time. During the Cape Tour, ambassador Fiona Hering visited Yabonga, one of the projects sponsored by the MAF (M.A.C. AIDS Fund).
The intimate breakfast at the Bijenkorf was all about the upcoming World Aids Day. Both the foundation Orange Babies and M.A.C. Cosmetics are closely involved in the worldwide prevention of AIDS. Every year M.A.C. Cosmetics donates the yield of her Viva Glam collection via the M.A.C. AIDS Fund to Orange Babies which is active in Southern Africa preventing the transmission from HIV from mothers to their babies.
Together with Orange Babies managing director Baba Sylla and co-founder John Kattenberg, the Orange Babies ambassadors Fiona Hering and Caroline Tensen accepted the cheque from Senior Make-up artist Benelux M.A.C. Cosmetics, Ines Borgonjon. This special donation offers Orange Babies the possibility to continue their projects in Africa successfully and to contribute to the ‘Countdown to Zero’ project. During this morning the special relationship between M.A.C. Cosmetics and Orange Babies was put in the spotlight. A moment that can be described as a joyful gathering with a serious message though.
The M.A.C. AIDS FUND
The M.A.C. AIDS FUND (MAF), the heart and soul of M.A.C. Cosmetics, is founded in 1994 to help men, women and children worldwide who have been infected by HIV/AIDS. MAF is a pioneer in the field of HIV/AIDS funding by providing financial support to organizations that work with underprivileged regions and population groups. As the largest corporate non-pharmaceutical donor, MAF works around the clock to demonstrate the link between poverty and HIV/AIDS by supporting various organizations all over the world that, in different ways, help people living with HIV/AIDS. Until now MAF raised 380 million dollars just by selling the M.A.C. Viva Glam products. 100% of these sales are donated to the MAF (minus VAT if possible). For more information go to
